Dear Len,

besty!

Thank you so much for the letter you wrote for me on your blog.

We've known each other for 17 years, and have been bestfriends for 16, and still going of course. Ang tagal na noh?

I hope you know how thankful I am for everything you've done for me. You being my bestfriend is one of the greatest blessings I have. And I know that not everyone gets the chance to experience something like this - a bestfriendship that's strong as steel and as timeless as a classic symphony. That's why I am truly grateful.

Thanks for the love and care and never-ending support, and for listening to me kahit minsan ang bagal ko magkwento. hehehe :) and hindi mo ako pinagtawanan when I saw you know who and umiyak pa ko ng hindi ko alam kung bakit. Weird. And umiyak pa ako sa Mcdo, bad trip! :)

Thanks bespren! And as our song goes:

If I had only one friend left, I'd want it to be you.

Beautiful

Just this afternoon I heard James Blunt's song over the radio, and was touched by his lyrics.

You're beautiful...it's true.

I never really thought of myself as beautiful. In fact, my perception of myself falls under the category of being plain. Or common. Beautiful was far too sacred a word, and belonged only to those born with porcelain skin and chiseled facial features and long legs.

But hearing the song today reminded me of moments when I felt beautiful. Not because of how I look, but how my man looks at me. He tells me I'm beautiful. And he's probably only saying it because he loves me. So that doesn't count because love is blind. But knowing that to him I look lovely, to one person in this world I am the apple of his eye, capable of making his heart skip a beat or his knees go weak - then I feel that maybe I am beautiful. The whole world might beg to differ, but in the eyes of my man I know I am, and no other woman can be lovelier.

----------

I saw an ad on TV, celebrating Women's Month this March. The message was wonderful and inspiring.

My body is a work of art, beautiful in its imperfect way.

If only every woman would live by this mantra, then we would all feel beautiful. We would all be beautiful.

Wave 891's New Look!

We really had to wait for our 7th Anniversary to finally realize that our old logo didn't work for us anymore. So now Wave 891 has a brand new, smashing, kick-ass logo.

PLUS! Check out our Anniversary CD, which we'll be giving away on March 28 during our celebration at the Central Plaza of Eastwood City. The songs are great. And the whole look and feel of the package - ASTIG!

We had a prictorial a couple of weeks ago to prepare for the CD cover and all. We made sure it was very R&Bish, totally different from the look of our previous pictures. Here's a sample to give you an idea of what our new pics are gonna look like...

Weird setting huh? Wait 'til you see the real thing on our CD and website. :)

Updates...

yey neyo

We watched Neyo's concert at the Araneta Coliseum last March 1. Although the event was very simple (in fact it looked more like a gig than a concert), Neyo was absolutely terrific! He sang all his big hits and made the crowd go wild.

After the concert, we all went to E Bar in Edsa Shangri-La for the after-party. I didn't get to shake Neyo's hand, but I still had a great time. :)

Hon wanted to get a pair of new Chucks. AND he wanted to get a pair for me, too. I'm not really a jeans-and-sneakers type of girl so I hesitated at first. But since he's buying, I thought, what the heck! Let's do it!

besty date

During one of our besty dates, Len and I discovered this fantastic restaurant in Shangri-La called CAFE PROVENCAL. It's not a new place actually. It's been there for the longest time. It was only now that we decided to try it out. And we made the perfect choice.

love this
Crisp baguette slices with creamy pesto dip

calamansi soda
Fresh Calamansi soda

quatro formaggio
Quattro Formaggio pizza - this was simply heavenly! The crust was crisp and thin, the layers of cheese were soft and chewy.

testing her soup
Len enjoying her pumpkin soup. The fresh tomato soup I had was just as good.

The food...delicious. The quality and taste...excellent. The ambience and service...delightful. I was so pleased that I brought my beau there two days after. I told him the Salmon Risotto was really good, so he tried it and was not disappointed.

March 14. My besty Len and I conducted a Radio Workshop at Holy Family School, our alma mater. Len put together a really good and extensive outline for the 4-hour workshop. We were able to share our knowledge and skills to the students, who were all eager to learn.

I hate her.

'Nuf said.

To the very core of my being.

I hate her.

So before this resentment eats me up alive, I have gathered good quotes on hate that should help me calm down and look at the bright side (which is, I'm luckier in so many ways).

Hating people is like burning down your own house to get rid of a rat. ~Henry Emerson Fosdick

Hate cages all the good things about you. ~Madrianne Arvore

The price of hating other human beings is loving oneself less. ~Eldridge Cleaver, Soul on Ice, 1968

I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear. ~Martin Luther King, Jr.

You lose a lot of time, hating people. ~Marian Anderson

Hate less, live longer. ~Ivy Culler

and this i like best...
I will permit no man to narrow and degrade my soul by
making me hate him. ~Booker T. Washington

A funny conversation between me and my beau:

Anne: Honey, is there any chance you're going to turn gay?
(I asked this because he was repeatedly doing this gay gesture I showed him that
originally came from a gay DJ I was with a couple of weeks ago.)

Alvin: No baby.

Anne: Ok, you tell me as early as now if you're going to turn gay. So that I can leave you and look
for someone else while I'm still young and beautiful. Wala ng magkakagusto sa akin pag
matanda na ako.

And his winner line goes...

Honey, any man would fall in-love with you.

Aww... Thanks baby. That was really nice. Love you! :)

----------

And here's another one I find funny...

Anne: Hon, buti na lang magaling tayo mag english.

Alvin: Bakit?

Anne: Eh kasi pwede tayo magsalita while doing "it." We can mutter words in english. Imagine if you had to say tagalog words during sex. That wouldn't really sound so good.

Then we laugh.

:)
